Leon Mayne
Leon works in development across World’s slate with a focus on exciting and distinctive writing talent for television projects. He joined World in 2024, hopping straight on to Series 2 of Grace Ofori-Atta’s Malpractice for ITV, as Script Editor.
A polymath at heart, Leon’s career is both storied and varied across development, screenwriting, and production. In development he was script editor on Adjani Salmon’s BBC and A24 series Dreaming Whilst Black, and Ola Labib’s Channel 4 upcoming comedy The Pharmacy. Writing alongside his development work, Leon has three original series, broadcast in over 80 countries worldwide including his flagship Brothers With No Game. His production credits include the aforementioned, plus BFI short Binge Watching and BBC short Nia, where he served as producer and executive producer respectively.
Leon was previously at BBC Drama, where he worked in the commissioning team for 4 years. It’s here where his passion for developing strong voices was realised, subsequently launching a network home to above-the-line talent in active production and development, in which he successfully connected talent to produce on Netflix series Stay Close, write for Bad Wolf developments, and exec produce Sky Film Anthology strand, Unsaid Stories.
