Joe Williams

Joe Williams joined World Productions in June 2025 to work across new and existing projects. 

Prior to joining World, Joe was Executive Producer at ITV Studios, where he most recently worked on The Hack (ITV), written by Jack Thorne, directed by Lewis Arnold and starring David Tennant and Robert Carlyle. Joe was also Executive Producer on Mr Bates vs the Post Office (ITV), which brought the story of the Post Office/Horizon scandal to wide public attention. The series was the most-viewed drama programme of 2024 and won numerous accolades, including x3 National Television Awards, a special RTS Award, a Peabody Award, and the BAFTA TV Award for Best Limited Drama. 

Joe's previous credits as story producer and script editor include the hit series Lupin (Netflix), starring Omar Sy, which Joe helped develop with George Kay. The series was watched by 76-million viewers when it debuted in January 2021 and was nominated for Best International Drama at the BAFTAs and Golden Globes. Joe also worked with George Kay on Litvinenko (ITV), starring David Tennant, and on Criminal (Netflix), starring Katherine Kelly. 

From 2015 to 2019, Joe was Head of Development at Vox Pictures, where he helped develop and script edited Keeping Faith/Un Bore Mercher (BBC/S4C), starring Eve Myles. The series was the most-popular show on BBC Wales for 25 years and was viewed over 50-million times on BBC iPlayer. At Vox, Joe also worked on the single dramas The Green Hollow (BBC) and To Provide All People (BBC), as well as the feature film Eternal Beauty, directed by Craig Roberts and starring Sally Hawkins. 

Joe has also held development roles at Scott Free, Sprout Pictures, and in Channel 4's Drama Commissioning Team. He has also worked as a script editor for the BBC Writers' Room and on the Channel 4 Screenwriting Course.
