Father Peter Clifford (Stephen Tompkinson) is sent to the rural Irish town of Ballykissangel. He quickly finds himself at odds with his superior, Father MacAnally (Niall Toibin) and local bar owner Assumpta Fitzgerald (Dervla Kirwan).
