- EPISODE 2
HELLO AND FAREWELL
Niamh's feelings of guilt and grief intensify; she stands in the kitchen, remembering the events leading to Ambrose's death. Sean Dillon arrives to see her and gives Quigley a gift for her: it's a mourning broach - but Niamh decides not to wear it.
Orla now needs somewhere to live and spots an advert for a cottage in Kathleen's shop, later when she drives out to see the cottage, she is surprised when Connor opens the door.
On the day of the funeral the whole community gather at the Church for the ceremony led by Fr Aidan. He reads a touching statement made by one of the holidaymakers Ambrose had tried to rescue.
Later at the reception, when Niamh comes down to greet everyone, Sean Dillon arrives but she is unable to face him and retreats to the back in tears. Quigley consoles her and she returns for everyone to toast Ambrose.
Dillon feels embarrassed and leaves with Emma. Back on the farm he tells her about his relationship with Niamh and explains that she was about to leave Ambrose.
In the meantime Orla has fallen in love with the cottage and decides to take it, although Connor still needs to do some renovations, she agrees to move in anyway, Liam and Donal help. Later she discovers there is no running water or electricity.
Back in the village Emma she sees Niamh and begs her to talk to Sean; later that day, Niamh drives out to meet Sean and asks him to stay away.
Connor leaves the cottage to get a part so he can fix the electrics, Orla is waiting, but he doesn't return - he gets caught up fixing an oil leak on his boat, when Orla finds him she threatens to move out.
When Orla arrives back at the cottage with Liam and Donal to move her things, everything has been fixed up, the electricity is on and there's running water, she goes to find Connor and they make a date to go for a drink.
