THE FINAL FRONTIER

There's a storm brewing in Ballyk and Eamonn's dog Trixie darts around in circles barking. A laden station wagon arrives: its Donal's Uncle Minto, he wants Donal to look after his wagon because he's going on a trip.

Meanwhile Ambrose and Niamh are arguing, she storms out and walks over to Sean's house - where uncle Minto awkwardly mistakes her for Mrs. Dillon.

Niamh and Sean go for a walk and she confides in him that her marriage is in trouble. It starts to rain and they take shelter under a bridge, Niamh later gets angry with him and tells him he is conceited but Sean insists on driving her home.

Back at Fitzgerald's Ambrose goes to the door and spots Sean's car pulling up. He sees Sean leaning over Niamh in what appears to be an embrace: in fact Dillon is just leaning over to unlock the door for her. Ambrose confronts Niamh and is furious that she has confided their problems to Dillon. He drives out to the farm to confront Sean.

Later on the farm a huge tree crashes through the house, causing lots of damage. The next day Sean is fed up and tells Orla that he is going to sell his land and leave BallyK.

Fr Aidan visits Dillon in an effort to change his mind, but Dillon seams adamant until he looks out of the window and sees everyone from the village arriving with chainsaws, trucks and tractors. Slowly they pull the tree away from the house and help him build a bonfire with all the debris.

Niamh finally talks to Ambrose and tells him that, nothing had happened between her and Sean. She takes Kieran and leaves.

At Dillon's farm, the work is done and a party has begun. Niamh arrives and dances with Sean, Ambrose follows her and watches from a distant.
