Donal doesn't see much further than the end of his nose and tends to do everything Quigley and Liam tell him. But however unsophisticated Donal may be he is conscientious and loyal to the man who hands him his pay packet.
Where Liam may claim to use logic and intelligence, Donal acts on instinct - an instinct that can sometimes be surprisingly good.
With a creative mind he has on occasion gone out on a limb, displaying skills that impress both Liam and Quigley, but unfortunately his exploits usually prove unsuccessful.
He seems to have nine lives, after several close scrapes with death, including a fall from the roof of Fitzgerald's and nearly drowning in a lake on Quigley's golf-course.
He is quieter and seemingly less assertive than Liam but he is no pushover.
