Liam is one of Quigley's two main employees. Though he ultimately does what he is paid to do, he goes to great lengths to get one over his employer.
He can be lazy and is always ready to use a situation to his own advantage. He sees working for Quigley as being something of an 'apprenticeship'.
He still believes that when the opportunity arises, he has it in him to become an entrepreneur in his own right. He has not given up this dream despite past business failures which include panning for gold and a chip shop.
He assumes (and is given) leadership when he and Donal work together. Sometimes he can seem to be dismissive of his friend and colleague. However, he behaved with surprising sensitivity when Donal was being two timed by his girlfriend.
Although always out for a scam he knows the difference between right and wrong and would never hurt friends. When Dooley got community service after the poitin scam, Liam was there to help out.
