(good, but not perfect)

What is this movie about?
The movie follows the life
of a lonely 14-year-old boy, Billy, whom no-one seems
to understand but his English teacher. He is constantly
in trouble at school and at home, especially with his
brother Jud. His mother takes no interest in his life
at all. When he finds a kestrel hawk, he decides to
train it. It is the most important thing in his life.
But he is in serious trouble with Jud. Jud is furious.

Who were the main actors
and actresses in this movie?
Ido not know their names,
but here are the main characters: Billy Casper, Jud
Casper, the mother, Mr. Crossley, the shopkeeper, the
English teacher, the headmaster, the gym teacher, and
of course, KES, THE HAWK/
What did you like best about
this movie?
There are some humorous
points.
Was there anything bad about
the movie?
The sound was not very good,
as it is very old.
How did this movie make
you feel while you were watching it?
I felt sad for Billy, as
he had no real friends and got picked on.
What was this movie rated,
and are there any parts inappropriate for younger kids?
There are a few nude shots
-- not many, though. And a tiny bit of bad language.
I do not know the rating.
What did you think of the
way the movie was made?
The movie was made well.
The actor who plays Billy was well-suited for the part.
The use of music is also good. It shows the difference
between the rural and urban settings. The language
is hard to follow in parts, as it is set in Northern
England, and I could not understand the accents.

Do you have any other comments
about yourself or the movie that would give us a better
understanding of your review?
I studied this movie at
school, and that was difficult, as I watched it in
bits and pieces. I think it might have been better
if I had watched it elsewhere.
