It's time for a change
in Egg's day-to-day life, so he takes a telesales job. It's
a disaster - he doesn't even make it through one shift.
Meanwhile, Milly's career is soaring. Her boss, O'Donnell,
has asked her to help him with a very important case, warning
her that it will mean lots of late nights in the office.
She accepts - partly because she wants to work on the case
and partly because the idea of time alone with O'Donnell
appeals to her. Milly certainly doesn't have much to go
home to - Egg still isn't interested in sex and the advice
he gets from his confidante Miles is as helpful as ever.
Jo is still hurt and upset
over Anna's dismissal of him as a potential lover. He gets
his own back by refusing to give her any work and now she's
getting desperate. Fighting back in the best way she knows,
she sprays on her littlest black dress and goes to Hooperman's
birthday party where she flirts wildly. Her behaviour embarrasses
everyone but Anna.
The only other person who
seems to admire Anna's attitude (or is it her legs?) that
evening is Egg's father Jerry who turns up unexpectedly.
Egg sees his arrival as a chance for a bit of family support
- but that's not how things turn out. Egg's mother has left
Jerry for another man and it's the father who needs the
son's support now.
