It's
a miracle that the flatmates haven't ganged up on Miles
yet and forced him to listen to a rousing chorus of "Why,
why, why, Delilah?" She's a nightmare. It's becoming all
too obvious that Delilah has a lot of problems. She's bulimic,
she steals, she lies, she's broke - and she owes money (along
with Truelove) to some people who have given up waiting.
She sweet-talks Warren into giving her some cash - allegedly
to get her to a modelling assignment, but we all know she'll
never keep the appointment. And the strangest thing of all
- why won't she take off her clothes when she's in bed with
Miles? What does Delilah have to hide?
At
last, Egg is showing an interest in his work. He's been
given a case to work on by O'Donnell, who warns him not
to become too personally involved. The client, McCleary,
has cancer which he believes was caused by some experimental
asthma drugs he was given as a child. Now he wants to sue
the manufacturers for damages - even though it's clearly
too late. Milly shares O'Donnell's worries about Egg becoming
too involved - and she's right. Egg falls apart when he
hears that McCleary has died - it was suicide. The whole
case makes Egg question what he's doing with his life.
Anna and Miles fight again
- over Delilah. Miles knows she needs help but Anna is the
wrong choice of confidante. He accuses her of being jealous
of his new relationship. She accuses him of being willfully
blind. And he is ... and that's why the house is burgled
by associates of Delilah and Truelove.
