Steve John Shepherd says he's not unlike Jo - although he reckons Jo was a 'complete bastard' to Kira. But he adds that, coming from the East End himself, he 'understands the way he acts and where his attitudes towards women come from.' Steve originally wanted to be a ballet dancer. His parents were horrified and thought he must be gay. Then, after he was 'kicked out of ballet school for being dire' and announced he going to act, they were convinced he was gay. He isn't.

Steve will soon appear on the big screen in Michael Winterbottom's I Want You with Rachel Weisz.
