Why
is it called 'Buried'?
The
title comes from a quote
from a Jacobean play:
'Art thou poor and in
prison? Then thou art
buried before thou art
dead.'
|
Is Buried
filmed in a real prison?
No. It’s filmed on a three-storey set built
in a disused warehouse in Manchester. It's a huge
set, designed by production designer David Butterworth.
|
What research
did they do to make the show so accurate?
All of World Productions' shows are very thoroughly
researched. For Buried, the production team visited
prisons and spoke to prison officers and inmates.
|
It seems
pretty cushy to me - prisons aren’t really
like that, are they?
D-Wing of HMP Mandrake is a modern wing, similar
in style to Young Offenders Institutes. In addition,
it has a drug-free unit, in which improved conditions
are offered to those kicking their habits.
|
Can you explain
all the prison slang?
Of course we can - have a look at our glossary here.
