LEE KINGLEY - PLAYED BY LENNIE JAMES

Age: 32
In for: Posession of a firearm and attempted murder.

Lee's a first-time inmate. He's never even spent a night in the cells. He didn't allow himself to be sucked into the gansta world his brother, Troy, inhabited. Instead he started his own building business, got married to Cleo and had a daughter, Amelie. Troy is currently serving a life sentence.

He's an upstanding citizen... or at least he was until his sister's violent boyfriend raped her - Lee pulled a hired handgun on him. He was convicted on dodgy evidence and is just starting his ten-year mandatory sentenence.

When he arrives at Mandrake, he's protesting his innocence and appealing against his sentence - mainly because of the evidence he was convicted on. He knows he's materially guilty but feels morally innocent. In the prison, he's aware that every action he takes will define his identity. He's determined to stay aloof from the criminal population whom he despises.
