Attachments our groundbreaking new series has just completed it's first airing on UK television. The trials and tribulations of new internet start up www.seethru.co.uk and it's colourful employees have captured the nation with an intriguing blend of office politics, new media dreams and emotional instability. For those of you that just cant wait until the second series, we've got a great book based on the show to give away.

On The Edge is a brand new novel by Rupert Smith that follows Jake and Luce as they embark on the roller-coaster ride to establish Seethru. Luce is assertive, commercially astute and, although she hates to admit it, fired by conventional middle class notions of success. Jake is a meticulous perfectionist but deeply insecure due to his lack of success with women. In alternating chapters Jake and Luce give their account.

Attachments may be the starting point for On The Edge, but the confessions of Jake and Luce take the reader deep into the characters. Rupert Smith has produced an authentic, funny, fast-moving account of twenty-somethings in a new industry trying to make their way in the capital.

Luce's story reveals a woman 'on the edge': she is at odds with husband Mike over the direction of the site. He won't 'suck corporate dick for no-one', while she realises that there will need to be some compromise. The negotiations with backers take their toll on their relationship as they both start to feel the strain. Out of the blue, Luce starts to feel herself pulled emotionally in a different direction. Soon she will have to make the most difficult decision of her life...

Outside the goldfish bowl of Mike and Luce's negotiations, Jake is forced to be realistic about his allegiances. He is dedicated to his friends but can't afford to sit back while the site faces closure. Meanwhile his work colleagues 'twisted old lezzer' Sophie, geek Brandon and sexual athlete Reece continue to question his sexual preference. Jake is facing 30 with anything but calm composure. Trying desperately to find a girlfriend who will meet his impossibly high standards and silence his critics, supporting Luce and Mike, abusing and being abused by his work colleagues at Seethru and despairing at his cantankerous father - Jake is also 'on the edge'!
