Thanks for the clarification, Camille. I thought I remembered a conversation between Assumpta and Peter, where Assumpta admitted that she had asked Liam and Donal to 'pursuade' the trailer family to vacate - something about their presence jeopardizing the sale of her land to Quigley. It isn't the first time I've recollected incorrectly! IP: Logged |

I just watched the second part of a British crime show called "Prime Suspect" and there was Gary Whelan in the background of an interrogation room. More hair and less weight, but it was him. I gather he has played a copper more than once. In this show he plays "DS Terry Amson." IP: Logged |

Vicky unregistered |
Yeah. He has played a Police officer a few times. He was in Brookside, Eastenders and the Bill as a police officer. He also owns Whelans Pub in Dublin and London. IP: Logged |

I have been told I am a twin to Tina Kellegher. I find this hard to believe! Anyone have any pictures of her? IP: Logged |

If you're a twin to TK, I want to marry you! Here's a link to a very old picture of her. She's gotten prettier as she's gotten older. http://www.imdb.com/gallery/ss/0108170/Ss/0108170/snapper1.jpg?path=pgallery&path_key=Kellegher,%20Tina If that doesn't work, just go to the IMDB.com main page, search under her name and you'll find the same pictures I did. Just getting around to Sunday's NYTimes, and there is a long article about Colin Farrell, very positive and full of praise. I hope most of you can get it on line. IP: Logged |

Yeah, the article about Colin Farrell is available online, but you have to register to view it. I hate that. An open invitation for spam, if you ask me. IP: Logged |

Recently spotted Father Mac, as a priest, in the final episode of "Brideshead Revisited"( on DVD). The scene involved a conflict over whether to administer Last Rites or not. IP: Logged |

Angela, what's the copyright date on that episode of "Brideshead Revisited"? Was it made before or after Series 3 of "Ballykissangel"? It would be interesting to know which program came first, at least to me. IP: Logged |

IMDB.com Says that the miniseries was made in 1981. IP: Logged |

I thought so! I wonder if Niall Toibin (sp?) used that experience and and consulted with Kieran Prendiville in writing that scene we all shudder to remember? Thanks for answering my question! IP: Logged |

BBCPrime is available on the European continent, the Middle East, and Africa. I think Jantien (in Holland) receives it, too. I get it by cable, so I don't know if it can be picked up by satellite also.

Not exactly alumni news, but I heard part of this BBC Radio 4 program concerning the poem from the wake yesterday: http://www.bbc.co.uk/cgi-perl/whatson/prog_parse.cgi?FILENAME=20040814/20040814_2330_49700_9725_30 It's to be repeated on Saturday, I see. What I heard was very interesting, including about the use of cloths/clothes in the drafts. I had the best of reasons to come away from the radio, Laura's son David and his Nadine came by, for a visit then a meal out. My sister-in-law and mother-in-law were already with us and we had a special time together. That sort of thing has become very important to me. IP: Logged |

ST will be in the cast of a production of Agatha Christie's "One, Two, Buckle My Shoe" on Radio 4. Looks like a good cast - John Moffat as Poirot, and Pullip Jackson as Detective Inspector Japp. IP: Logged |

That's Phillip Jackson. Can't spell today. He played Japp in the TV series. IP: Logged |

This is probably groping on the "alumni" front, but here goes, from two recently viewed films... I'm admitting publicly, (and amongst friends, I hope!) that I'm one of those strange persons who actually sits through and reads the credits at the end of movies. "In America", featured casting by Frank and Nuala Moiselle. "Ella Enchanted" was filmed at Ardmore Studios, with some *very* familiar outdoor scenery. Additionally, several of the songs on the soundtrack produced and arranged by Shaun Davey. It really is a small world, that world of entertainment. IP: Logged |

Camille@Gaelforce unregistered |
Also on the movie front, has anyone else seen the ads or trailers for the movie coming out this fall titled "Alexander"? Angelina Jolie is the immediate big name star, but the actor portraying the title character is Colin Farrell! He's either wearing a blonde wig or has bleached his hair, so at first I wasn't sure it was him, but the credits confirmed my tentative recognition! This looks like a "blockbuster", I hope it does far better than "Troy" did as an "historical drama" film! IP: Logged |

Not sure if this was previously posted or not, but Niall Toibin and Birdy Sweeney appear with Pierce Brosnan in "The Nephew" (1998). Here's a link for the movie: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119772/ It was on WB reealllyy late one night here in the US about 1-2 weeks ago, and I thought I recognized some of the scenery: The outside of the bar, the bridge, the waterfall, and the one-lane hairpin turn on the road down to the sea. Also, I thought it was neat that the female lead's character was named Aislín. Likely, this is because that's also the name of the actress, but I thought the connection to Siobhan & Brendan's daughter, Aisling, was too good to pass by. I wonder if anyone's hiring in Avoca, Co. Wicklow? IP: Logged |

Hey add me to your list of reading all the credits lol. Some of my family just switch them off the minute something has finished and I'm like hey why did you do that. I have to make an excuse that I'm listening to the song or something lol. IP: Logged |
