Sitting on an impoverished Manchester sink estate, our latter day Cinderella (Cassidy) dreams of meeting her prince charming. Without a fairy godmother handy she uses her womanly wiles and nabs herself John, an older (married) wealthy builder. A baby secures the match and she’s plunged into nouveau riche heaven nestled in the Cheshire countryside.

But what seemed to be the ideal life begins to look shaky. John’s ex-wife and three grown up children are not keen to share John with what they see as a gold digger. His business is looking decidedly unstable and the rules and inverted snobbery of Cheshire life seem impenetrable. Will it all end happily ever after?
