Gulliver’s education continues as Dunbar tries to show
him the benefits of co-operating with the police. But it’s
Dunbar who ends up with blood on his hands - and his shirt.
Gulliver is still finding his feet when Dunbar introduces
him to a whole new section of society: MILLFs or Mothers I’d
Like to Lose Fourteen Stone. One such MILLF wants Gulliver
to get the courts to teach her shoplifting son, Ishanti, a
lesson. Meanwhile DC Simons wants Gulliver to get Ishanti to
confess to a bunch of crimes he didn’t commit, TICs or
Taken Into Considerations. Simply put, the more the defendant
admits, the less he gets punished. Gulliver tries to do what’s
best for his client but gets no thanks from anyone and a bollocking
from Dunbar.
Dunbar knows that keeping the police on side will help buy
a few favours for his clients. So when Terence Sheppey is done
for possession with intent, Dunbar makes a deal with Simons:
If Simons reduces the charge against Sheppey, Dunbar will persuade
his client to become an informant. But, as Dunbar knows only
too well, no good deed goes unpunished. Sheppey gives up the
name of a big-time dealer, but loses an ear in the process.
